Privacy policy
Last updated 10 October 2026
DarcyCode runs Connection Decoder at decoder.darcycode.ai and the Connection Decoder plugin for ChatGPT. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. Questions go to hello@darcycode.ai.
The short version
- Saved conversations are private to your account, and you can delete them at any time.
- We never use your conversations or readings to train AI models, and we never sell them.
- There are no ads and no advertising trackers.
- The ChatGPT plugin never sends your conversation to us.
What we collect on the website
- Your account: your email address, and either a password (stored only as a secure hash by our sign-in provider) or your Google sign-in.
- What you choose to tell us about yourself: a name, pronouns and an age range, and your answers in the introduction (who the conversation is with, what brought you here, how much guidance you want). All optional.
- The conversations you share, including the names of any files you attach, and the readings we write, saved to your account so you can come back to them.
- Usage and billing records: when a reading or reply happened, its depth, its cost and the credits it used. Technical logs add the model used and its length in tokens. None of these contain anything anyone wrote.
- Payments: if you subscribe or buy credits, Stripe handles your card. We receive a customer and subscription reference, never your card number.
- Feedback: if you rate a reply, the rating and any note you add.
- Technical data: your IP address and browser type, used for security, rate limiting and preventing abuse.
When a reading fails, we keep what was sent with it, and part of the model's reply, so that we can work out what went wrong. Successful readings are not logged this way.
If you send a problem report, we receive your note, the reply you are reporting, and basic details such as the error shown and your screen size. We receive the rest of the conversation and its screenshots only if you tick the box to include them.
The other person in your conversation
A conversation contains someone else's words too. We use them only to write the reading you asked for. We do not build a profile of them, and we do not link one conversation to another. Please share only conversations you took part in.
Sensitive information
Conversations can reveal health, sexuality, religion or other sensitive matters. We process that information only to give you the reading you asked for, on the basis of your explicit consent when you share the conversation. You can withdraw it by deleting the conversation; any diagnostic copy then expires on the schedule below.
The ChatGPT plugin
When you use Connection Decoder inside ChatGPT, the reading is written by ChatGPT itself. Your conversation and screenshots stay in ChatGPT and are never sent to our servers. OpenAI's handling of them is covered by OpenAI's privacy policy.
Our server receives one call per reading, carrying only: the reading's language, how many rows it has, which kind of ending it uses, your approximate country, and an anonymous ID that ChatGPT assigns. We store a scrambled (salted hash) form of that ID, which we cannot link to you, so that we can count how many people use the plugin. You do not need an account with us to use it.
How we use it
- To write readings and keep your saved conversations.
- To run your account, credits and billing.
- To diagnose errors and answer problem reports.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
The legal bases are: performing our agreement with you; your explicit consent for sensitive information; and our legitimate interest in security and fixing faults.
Who processes it for us
We use these providers to run the service. Each receives only what its job needs.
- Supabase, through Lovable Cloud: database and sign-in, including Lovable's sign-in service for Google accounts.
- Cloudflare: hosting and network.
- OpenRouter and Anthropic: the AI model that writes readings on the website.
- Stripe: payments.
- Google: web fonts on every page, and sign-in if you choose it.
Some of them are outside your country, including in the United States. Where the law requires it, transfers are covered by standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
How long we keep it
- Saved conversations and their readings: until you delete them or your account.
- What a failed reading sent: 14 days. The part of the model's reply kept with it: 90 days.
- A server copy of each reading, kept so it can still reach you if you leave the page: 30 days, or until you delete the conversation.
- Technical logs, including IP addresses, ratings and their notes: 90 days.
- Problem reports: the conversation and screenshots you attach, 14 days; your note and the reply you reported, 90 days.
- Usage and billing records: as long as accounting law requires. If you delete your account they are kept but no longer linked to you.
Your choices and rights
You can delete any conversation from the sidebar, and delete your whole account in Settings. That removes your account, your conversations and everything you told us about yourself; logs and reports expire on the schedule above. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription, so cancel it first from your account.
You can also ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to delete it, by writing to hello@darcycode.ai. You can complain to your local data protection authority.
Age
The website is for people aged 18 and over. The ChatGPT plugin is available to ChatGPT users under OpenAI's own age rules, and it does not collect personal information from anyone.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will tell signed-in users before it takes effect.
